Puma Golf was nice enough to send over a pair of their new Zero Limits golf shoe to test and review.  With Puma's new lines of clothing and gear I was pretty excited since they seem to be one of the most design heavy companies.  You know what they put out on the market is going to be hip (yes I aged myself with that word).  Here is a little bit about the shoe.

Looks/Feel/Performance:

The new Puma Zero Limits golf shoes feature simple styling with traditional golf shoe benefits.  The new Puma Duo chassis allows your forefoot and heel to work independantly of each other for more control during the swing.  The new performance last is designed for a more customized fit allowing the shoe to form to your feet the more you wear them.

I have to agree with this statement when it comes to the comfort and performance of the shoe.  The Zero Limits Golf shoe is light, comfortable and looks flat out amazing.  With so many golf companies putting out fantastic equipment, Puma Golf has stepped up to the plate with the Puma Zero Limits golf shoe.  The clean looks will draw a lot of attention with the people you are golfing with on the course.  My first round in them, I had four people come up to me and compliment me on them.

Looks isn't the only that matters when it comes to golf shoes.  You need to have good grip and your foot needs flexibility as well to make the turns.  The Puma Zero limits allows both of those things and with ease.

The traction of the Zero Limit shoe is amazing.  It holds tight even in wet morning conditions.  With the spike pattern Puma has created you will have no issue with slippage on the course.  One of the best parts of this shoe is the comfort level.  Very comfortable and light so your feet after a round don't start throbbing from the 5 hours on the course.   Very impressed.

The first time I wore spike-less golf shoes, I swore I would never go back, but the Zero Limits has me second guessing that decision.

Final Thoughts:

The Puma Golf Zero Limits golf shoe is not only good looking and classy, it performs like a beast.  It has great grip, is comfortable and allows movement during your swing.  I am a big fan of the shoe and would recommend it for sure.  It isn't the lowest priced golf shoe on the market at $200.00 but it will surely last you a long time so the money is well spent.

Golf Review: Black Widow Golf Grips—the grips that grip back!

It is time for the results of the Kate Hughes Challenge!! Yes, I know Black Widow is wondering what I was up to, but I really wanted to give the grips a real test. I have been playing with them for 3 months and wanted to see how they really stand the test of time, play and weather changes.

The Feel and Look

Now let me tell you how it feels in my hands. I have 3 of the designs on my clubs: the putter (Widow Maker Putter); Fusion; and the Signature II. I love the way each of them feels in my hands…like an extension of my arms. What is best about each of the grips is their ability to stay feeling like new after 3 months of hitting balls, playing round, tournaments and playing in inclement weather. Every situation I was impressed with the grip and my hands ‘staying put’ on the club.

The look is fun and creates lots of conversations with all my playing partners. In my humble opinion, I think they get a little intimidated that I have ‘spiders’ on my grips. I feel and look like I can take a bite out of the competition and the course!!!!

I am interested in trying every single style as I think each will continue to offer the grip confidence and promote a solid aligned grip.

Overall, I am very impressed with the BW Grip line and trust me as a former LPGA Tour player, I have had the opportunity to try just about every grip out there to date.

The Performance

Having waited this long to do my review, I really wanted to see if they performed like they promised and I must say the grips certainly did just that: I maintained an even grip pressure with a good feeling grip in my hands and they outlasted many grips I have used in the past this long with my extensive practice and playing. I also love the constant alignment help with each grip to assist me in being confident my hands are on the club just as I want them to be.

One note: be sure you have someone who is experience in putting the grips on your clubs. With any grip you need to be sure they are on correctly so that they do assist you in your overall game. If the grips are poorly put on, trust me, it will affect your game. I had a professional put mine on to my specs and they are perfect.

Over the past few months, the grips have been through the cold, rain, heat and wind storms and they still feel awesome.

Final Thoughts

BW Grips has design and technology that all golfers should give a go to. I am an avid golf like many and I am impressed. I give BW Grips a positive Golf Review with HIGH Rating for Look, Feel and Performance.

The Bionic Aqua Grip glove is an extremely unique glove.  Who has been on the course on those early morning dawn patrol rounds when there is dew covering the course?  I know I have, because that is generally when I have time to hit the course.  There is nothing worse then laying down your club after going pin seeking, coming back and having your grips all wet.  You pick up your club and dry it off as best as you can with your towel but it doesn't seem to completely dry.  You walk over to your next hole, now with a slightly slippery grip and wet glove and walk up to the tee.  You head into your backswing, come down and .... whoops, your hand slightly slips on the club and there goes a ball into the water hazard.

Performance: I live in Southern California and am lucky that I generally get great golfing weather all year round.  However there are those misty morning when everything is getting wet and this glove can really come in handy.  I was not able to take the round out on a rainy day since we didn't have any rain lately, but I was able to take it out on several occasions on damp mornings.  I purposely would rub the glove on the wet grass then head up to the tee to see how the AquaGrip glove would actually work.  I have to admit that I thought there was no way it would work, especially how well it did.  The suede fiber did it exactly as it was intended.  Swing after swing I had no issues.  The pads inside the glove also helped with the gripping of the club.  So with the pads and the suede fiber, I had no issues with slippage.

The only thing I wasn't the biggest fan of with the AquaGrip glove was once it got wet, you did lose a little bit of the flexibility that was there prior.  It wasn't so much to make me want to take the glove off, because the added grip outweighed the flexibility issue.  Also the web technology around the knuckles really helped as well.

Overall:  I have to say I was very impressed with the technology of the AquaGrip glove by Bionic.  It is a comfortable glove with decent flexibility that allows a stable grip.  Once it gets wet, the grip actually gets better.  So this would be a glove I would suggest that everyone carried in their bags in case that unexpected storm rolls through and you want to finish your round with confidence.

You all know that I am a diehard traditionalist when it comes to golf, but I have been waiting for this shoe for a long time. I actually have one of the original Five Fingers Shoe from long ago and was hoping they would make a Five Fingers Golf Shoe.

It is a minimalist type shoe where the golfer can experience the sensation and freedom of playing golf barefoot and with the protection of sure-footed grip on the course. You will find yourself feeling almost one with the course as you stride with your clubs to each shot.

What is really cool here is that I used to practice barefoot. Yes…barefoot. Why you might ask? So that I can really feel my feet under me and work on the true balance needed when I swing the club. Throw conventional golf shoes out the window (or donate them to a good cause) and you now have a shoe that is functional and ‘cool looking’. Yes, it is unusual and you may get a few looks and comments, but really based upon your choice of color and style—you will stand out and look awesome!!

You literally look like you are barefoot. The Vibram FiveFingers golf shoe is like putting on a golf glove—there is a ‘slot’ for each toe and all your toes are separated just like in a golf glove. They have shoe strings that you tie up to secure the shoe, but in reality it truly fits like a glove (no pun).

So imagine you are slipping on a shoe that each toe—pinky to Big toe—has a place to call home. It is very different looking, but trust me, it will look just like you are playing barefoot.

FEEL

Of course, a golfer needs to feel good in something in order to play well. Let’s face it, we have time to think between shots and if something is bothering you, it may come out in the golf game.

The Vibram FiveFingers Golf shoe is amazing is the way if feels. I have issues with wearing flat sandals with no support. FiveFingers gives you the support you need no matter what ‘issue’ your feet may have. They actually have a precise way that you can measure your foot to find the shoe that fits perfectly. If you have questions and need help, they are just a phone call away to assist you in finding the correct shoe for your foot—hey, we all are different so we all can’t wear the exact same shoe.

I waited to do this review to play several rounds of golf in them (and wear them around town) to make sure they fit and felt perfect. I am not one to do a quick review without really giving the product the ‘Kate Hughes’ challenge. I have to say after more rounds than I can count at the minute, my feet have adjusted perfectly (like any shoe, your feet must make their own imprint) and it really feels like I am playing barefoot and I LOVE THAT!!!! I have the support under my arch I need and the cushion/energy for my feet to want to keep playing more holes when the rest of me says ‘I’m done’.

PERFORMANCE

The first time you try your Vibram FiveFingers Golf shoe, it will take you a bit to get your toes in each slot—not long…just a couple extra minutes. I have a baby toe that has a mind of her own—she did not want to be separated from her siblings. J After a couple minutes, the ‘kids’ were in their homes for the round and ready to rock and roll.

While warming up the first time, I felt like I didn’t have any shoes on…I am used to that stiffer shoe that has your foot sit in a ‘tub-like’ bed. But from the first swing and onto the course the shoe made its home on my foot and my toes felt cushioned and secure.

What I was most amazed about—but not surprised—was the ability for me to feel the balance during the swing…I mean I could really get in touch with my posture, balance and weight transfer. This is something I help teach all my players and have had them even hit barefoot. Now they can utilize the Vibram FiveFingers Golf Shoe to optimize their overall connection with their balance.

You may ask, what about a bunker shot, or even a side hill lie—will the Vibram FiveFinger Shoe keep me ‘grounded’ without slipping? The answer is simply and definitively—YES. I gave the shoes the ultimate Kate Hughes Challenge playing in rain, wet side hill lies (up-down-side) and of course long and short bunker shots. I didn’t have one slip and never felt I was not grounded and totally one with the surface below me.

Overall the performance was perfect in every way. Love love love the feeling I get walking on the course feeling like I am barefoot but with the comfort and secure feeling of a glove-fitted like shoe.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The Vibram FiveFingers Golf Shoe is perfectly unique with an amazing feel. I am so excited that Vibram FiveFingers made the leap to golf as it will only enhance the ability of the golfer to reach their potential by maximizing their overall feel of the swing from address to follow-through.

This may be a shoe that stands out from conventional or traditional looking golf shoes, but why not be slightly different to gain the edge on your playing partners while enjoying a ‘barefoot’ 18 hole walk on a beautiful golf course and enjoy the fun of playing like you are wearing nothing…I mean no shoes!! J

It is the beginning of the golf season.  You dust off your clubs, put them in your trunk, and are all set to get out and play 18.  You decide to walk and get the extra exercise since it is such a nice day.  The 8^th hole comes up and you are gassed because you actually thought your back could hold up carrying that bag and you shoot an abysmal score because you are more focused on not needing the paramedics called than making par.  Logic says to buy a push cart for your bag.  But there are so many out there and that is one more thing to schlep to the course and to clutter your already full garage.  Is there a solution?  Yes, the Alphard Duo golf cart.

Is it a bag?  Is it a cart?  Is it a "bart?"  The Alphard Duo combines two essential items for the avid golfer.  A 14-way full length divider bag with up to 9 pockets combined with a full featured push cart that is height-adjustable and even better, folds down to take up minimal space.  This 4-wheeled wonder has the potential to fit the needs of just about any golfer looking to play the course on foot.

How does it look?

The Duo cart/bag looks great.  The bag itself is made out of high quality materials that are built to withstand the elements and with a wide variety of vibrant colors it can really showcase your personality.  The cart components look very solid and sleek with white rims and a grey handle frame.

The skins are a really cool feature with the Duo.  It is really quite easy to change and allows a nice level of customization to your golf bag.

How does it feel?

The materials feel great on the bag.  The pockets are nice and deep and there are a lot of them varying in sizes.  The construction is solid and at a high standard that left me feeling very confident in the transport to the course and any obstacles while on the course.

The handle for the cart portion is a collapsible component and thus feels a little pliable even when locked into place.  I didn't have any problems with it collapsing on me but compared to other push carts it didn't feel as sturdy.  Everything else on the cart and bag were top notch.

My only complaint would be the weight of the Duo.  The bag is a little large (larger than a practice stand bag) and has a good amount of heaviness to it.  This may cause a problem with anyone with back problems and/or those who have trouble lifting things in general.

How does it perform?

I found the Alphard duo to perform extremely well.  It handled the terrain of any course I played with ease and is showing no signs of wear.  There is ample space to put whatever you like in the bag including shoes, extra clothes, and plenty of balls for that water hole that you love to feed so much.

I had a slight issue with the braking system out of the box but after a few minor tweaks to the tension of the brake cord I was back in business without any further problems.

I want to mention a little bit on ease of use.  I initially had a little bit of a tough time figuring out how the folding system worked but after about 10 minutes of scratching my head I figured it out and now it is quite simple.  My suggestion is to read the manual from the start to save some frustration.  In terms of the bag skin, that was incredibly easy.  It was as simple as unzipping the back of the bag vertically, unbuttoning the top and bottom of the skin, and reversing that order to put the new one on.

Final thoughts:

I really enjoyed reviewing the Alphard Duo.  It is an innovative product that appeals to a good amount of golfers.  I would like the bag to be just a little bit smaller simply because it would make it even more versatile for different vehicle style storage (I have a truck and this barely fits under the bed cover) and it would probably make it a bit lighter too.  There is a lot of great features in this product and I urge anyone looking at getting a new bag or push cart to take a look.

Golf Review: Swing Tip—Real Time Golf Swing Analysis

As their website says, “This Little thing is a BIG DEAL” And I agree whole heartedly!! This is a must have for all you who are trying to get better and check in with your swing right on the spot! I mean, instant feedback and gratification is the key to success, right?!?! The SwingTip will let you know exactly what is going on in your swing! Where was this 15 years ago!!!!

What is The SwingTip and How does it work?

This is a tiny device you attach to your club and it will give you immediate feedback/analysis of your swing: the Impact position; Power and Play analysis; Audio/Video capture of your swing. This little thing packs a punch and can really help you in achieving your goals.

Clip on the attachment to your club just below the grip, slide on the motion sensor until it clicks,  pop-up sight –lever to make sure you are aligned to clubface correctly, pair it with your Android or Iphone (in my case it is an Iphone) via Bluetooth and get ready to see the results of your swing.

It is amazing as it will auto detect if you are a right handed player or left and no matter your swing speed, it will stay on (I had one of our fastest swing speed pros swing hard to see if it would fly off!! NOPE!) You let it know if you have a driver, iron or wedge in your hand and let the club fly!

Once you swing, it transmits your swing data via the Bluetooth in 3 dimensions: Top, Front and target views. In addition, the SwingTip activates your mobile device’s video feature to record the swing from address to the follow through.

It will let you know if you were swinging inside-out, outside-in or if your club was closed, open or square at impact. Add to that, you get a check on where you hit the ball on the clubface (toe, heel, and center) and the tempo of your swing from start to finish.

All this and it stores the data for you for review and comparing later. You can also pick your best swings and ‘star’ them on your mobile device and show them to your coach later. It also allows you to email information straight from your mobile device to anyone you choose…like Tiger Woods or Stacy Lewis to get quick feedback!

Lastly, you can tack your progress by syncing it with your free MySwingTip account and set up trend reports and see where you are in your journey to lowering your scores and getting on that professional tour you have dreamed of!!

How does it Look and Feel?

Like any golfer, you are looking at attaching a device onto your club and swing away and you have doubts.  My first thought is how much does the SwingTip weigh and will it affect my swing in any way. The answer was a solid NO!

The look is sleek and blends right in to the club without standing out in any way. There is not one ounce of the feeling that you have extra ‘baggage’ on your club (it weighs less than an ounce). Throughout the swing I never once felt there was any ‘tug’ or resistance from the SwingTip.

Overall the look and feel was perfectly in sync with allowing your mind and body to feel nothing was attached to the club and you looked like a pro analyzing your own swing on the spot.

What was the performance like from attachment to analyzing?

My first step into making the SwingTip work at its optimum was to download the free SwingTip mobile app to my Iphone. Once that was completed, I turned on my Iphone’s Bluetooth, powered up the SwingTip allowing the device to go into discovery mode (flashing between amber and green colors), tapped on the SwingTip choice in devices on my Iphone and married the two (SwingTip and Iphone—the marriage is a onetime sync and lasts forever J )

The SwingTip is very easy to attach to any club and takes just a couple of minutes to put on the first time and you become an expert quickly as you move it from one club to the next. I am a stickler for ease of use and the SwingTip is a chip off the old easy block.

After I made sure it was securely fit, I pressed the power button and made sure the device and my Iphone were ‘speaking to each other’ . I then ‘opened’ the SwingTip app, identified the club the SwingTip was attached to on my Iphone’s screen and we were ready to rock and roll.

To my amazement, I took a real cut at the ball like I was some kind of Incredible Hulk and it recorded, analyzed and shared with my how awful the swing was from start to finish. So, I decided to come back down to earth and just be me and took multiple swings with various clubs (changing out the SwingTip to the club I wanted to hit with and also adjusted the club selection on my Iphone.)

Every time I took a swing, it was giving me immediate feedback and during my practice session, I was able to correct a slightly off swing plane; therefore improving my impact position and actually hit the ball farther. That impressed me tremendously. I am a bit like Bubba Watson in that I don’t take lessons and just swing with my God given talent…always have and maybe will change that a bit now with the SwingTip.

I was mesmerized with the in-depth detail this little attachment was giving me and how truly accurate it was despite my trying to fool it. I purposely took the club in-side to out and out-side to in; hit it off toe and the heel; opened face at impact and closed it severely; and changed up overall tempo. The SwingTip would have none of my attempts at trickery and nailed the analysis every time!! The SwingTip said, “Game on!” and it won the battle with the Kate Hughes Challenge.

Final Thoughts

The SwingTip is amazing and it is a must have for anyone trying to improve and maintain their game. I know that it certainly impressed me and I would love to make this a part of my golf routine during practice so that I can play circles around our Bunkers Paradise Founders!!

Look/Feel:

Performance:

After a few pitch shots, it felt great.  After a few full swings, I was sold.  I worked my way up through the bag on the range and had a consistent, reliable grip immediately every single time.  When I went back to hitting shots without it, even after only a few dozen swings with it on, I felt better.  The most amazing thing to me about it is how easy it is to use and what it really shows you how to do.

I went to a few random golfers on the range and asked them what they thought:

A low handicapper said it was great.  He actually plans on buying one.

A high handicapper looked at me a little surprised and asked me if that was what the golf grip was really supposed to feel like.  After a quiet chuckle to myself I said yes it is, and the look in his eyes when he hit his first shot with it on was priceless.  He, too, plans on buying one.  The results were immediate for him.  IMMEDIATE.

Bottom line, these guys got it right.  I have the golf-grip in my bag and it's staying there.  I start every range session with it.  Just a nice little muscle memory reminder to start my day on the range and in my opinion, the best $22 you can spend on your game for a short term fix and long term improvement.

The Nike Free-Inspired outsole of the Nike FI Impact is designed to mimic and conform to the natural motion of the foot while delivering all the protection and traction of a lightweight performance golf shoe. Well this was a review I was pretty excited to do.  I feel like gloves are pretty important for providing the right grip and the correct feel and when I think of Asher Gloves I think color.

I had a chance to put the Asher glove in play this weekend and I have to say I wasn't disappointed.  There wasn't much I didn't like about this glove.  Actually the only complaint that I had was a little of the color bled through to my hand, which washed off easily with just a little water.  Very insignificant in my opinion.

Look:

The looks of Asher gloves is great.  I reviewed a baby blue glove for the purposes of this article, but Asher provides numerous other color options and designs.  For those of you wearing flashy colors on the course, this may be the glove to match your outfit.  The leather had a soft look to it which added to an already great looking glove.

Feel/Performance:

The first thing I noticed about the Asher gloves was the quality leather.  It is noticeably soft even before putting it on.  Wanting to make sure it wasn't just me, I let my playing partner try it on and he immediately said it was the softest glove he had put on.  Let's get into the performance now, which is truly the most important.  The Asher gloves had tremendous grip and there is no hint of club slippage.  When I played it was very hot and humid and I was sweating quite a bit.  The glove provided great grip throughout the entire round and the moisture from my sweat had no effect on the grip.

Overall:

If you are looking for a great performing gloves that looks and feels great, Asher Gloves is a great choice.  With multiple color combinations to pick from you are bound to find something to match your calmest outfit or wildest outfit.

If you have ever had the privilege of going through a fitting using either Trackman or Foresight you know without the aid of a professional fitter some of the information can be a bit daunting. You might also be the guy who just loves to jump in a stall and see how far you hit while others stare in desperation for you to tee your last ball so they can have a swing. Whatever the case portable launch monitors are often too expensive or overkill for the average golfer.

3 Bays asked us at Bunkers Paradise if we would be interested in reviewing their GSA Pro. When I received the test unit the first thing I noticed is the beautiful packaging, a very nice plastic sleeve pulls off to reveal a magnetic box that holds the unit, charger, carrying case, and manual. 3 Bays offers the GSA Pro for android and for the iPhone.

Appearance:

I have already touched on how impressive the packaging was. The unit itself fits into the end of the grip via a short tee on the receiver. For android you get a black receiver with a pretty cool faux carbon fiber surrounding the power button. There is a sealed USB port for charging and when powered on the led is a very nice blue when paired and turns red when powered off.

Functionality:

I can talk all day about the looks of the device, but let’s get into how the 3 Bays will benefit your game. I put a full charge on the device and visited to the appstore for the free app and I was able to pair the device via bluetooth as well as follow the set up instructions on my phone. I decided to insert the device into a 7 iron to start. The GSA Pro does not hinder the grip whatsoever and I found it to stay in the grip very well. I did have to make sure it stayed square with the clubface but that is extremely easy to do. At a third of an ounce you don’t have to worry about adding too much weight to the club.

Just like more expensive monitors, 3 Bays GSA Pro will display swing path, face angle, tempo, swing speed, and distance - which unlike expensive monitors - is a guesstimate based on swing speed and force of impact, back swing time, down swing time, and consistency.

I was very happy with my results. My swings with a 7 iron showed how I can get over the top and from the swing speed and distance I noticed a 3-4mph difference from trackman and a 5-10 yard gap on some shots which to me is more than acceptable. For me, my swing path, tempo, and face angle are the biggest keys to improving overall striking. The 3Bays GSA Pro also allows you to store several of your best swings for you to either work with a teacher or while at the range and offers a down the line view or side view. Data is sent almost instantly and playback was very smooth.

Overall:

The 3 Bays GSA Pro is a more than adequate swing analyzer for the average to better golfer. The unit we tested retails for $199 and is inline with other training aids offering similar features. At just 9.8 grams the unit has very little effect on swing weight and one full charge usually gives you up to five hours of use, although I seemed to get more than that.

Pros:

Distance and Ball speed were within a few yards and mph of much more expensive monitors such as Trackman and Foresight GC2.
Pairs easily and offers instant feedback for golfer to view.
Lightweight and is the only unit that plugs into the end of the grip.

Cons:

If you have a huge ego the loss of a few mph and distance might be too much for you to handle.
Face angle and swing path can vary if not lined up properly pre-swing

How was the PalmBird Putter Grip Created?

Phillip Jaffe is an avid golfer and an active Class “A” PGA Professional. The main driving force in his entire life was golf and it drove him in so many directions. One day, while he was simply out in his yard pruning the beautiful giant Bird of Paradise plant, he was hit by the’ inspirational brick’. He felt the oblong shape of the stalk in the “Palm” of his hand and the wheels started spinning in his head.

All of a sudden, he found himself (with his wife looking on from a window in their home) practicing his putting stroke with the stalk of the “Bird” of Paradise. He was excited inside because the stalk just molded into his hands allowing him to feel a very fluid putting motion. It was the ‘ah ha moment’. He called his wife outside to relish in the moment that would change his life, the lives of other golfers and make putting fun again.

As you can imagine the grip took on the name simply by a day, like any other, trimming the ‘Bird’ of Paradise stalk and finding the fluid stroke of it in the ‘Palm’ of his hand while practicing his putting stroke.

The Key Elements Behind the PalmBird Golf Grip design and My Take

While holding the shaft of the Bird of Paradise plant, Jaffe noticed a flat surface in the front that made if feel like one could be in control of the flat stick. Thus, one of the key elements of the Palm Bird design is the elimination of the flat surface most putter grips have on the front and replace it with a contour that fits into the natural groove of your palms.

Make sense? Think about all the putter grips you have used and those found online and in golf shops…most have a flat surface on the front (top) and if one changes that surface and takes away the fingers and thumbs pressure on the grip and sends it to the palms of the hands, you are more one with the putter and the stroke. This is one of the things I found immediately.

I am a firm believer and coach that putting should always come from the shoulders in a more pendulum motion utilizing the triangle you have created (shoulder line—left arm line—right arm line) and placing the grip pressure more into your palms than your  fingers and thumbs allows this motion to occur more consistently and naturally.

LPGA Pro’s Overall Thoughts on the PalmBird Putter Grip

I had my buddies at the club put the grips on two of my putters: one two-ball face balanced and one more traditional putter blade to really give the grip a good solid run for its money and review.

After playing 4 rounds with the PalmBird Grip Putter myself and allowing my dad to play a round with it, I am happy to report that we both found the PalmBird Grip allowed for a more fluid stroke. My dad took to it a bit quicker that I, but after a round and some practice putting for me, I was able to drill down my long putts that gave me the initial problem.

I felt a real fluidity in the backstroke taking it back as one and taking my ‘flippy’ hands out of the equation. I also saw a real difference in holding the line through the stroke as I was effortlessly using my shoulders to move the putter and my hands had decreased their tension (and/or death grip) on the putter.

My dad said immediately, “It’s wider but tapers perfectly into the natural groove of my hands. I don’t feel like I am holding a tree trunk like some of those other large putter grips everyone is pushing. You can purchase the files on their website or on iTunes, then sync them to your iphone or other audio device.  Then head to the golf course with your instant golf instruction.  Each tip and instruction section is about a minute long, which I thought was perfect.  No one wants to see some dude with his headphones on and not hitting golf balls.  Your first thought would be, 'Stop listening to Spice Girls bro, and go hit some golf balls.'  Yes, that was a Spice Girls reference.  You will only find those here at Bunkers Paradise.  So the one minute instructions are the perfect amount of time.  Don't worry, while the one minute is short, the instructions are very clear and easy to understand, which in turn give you more quality practice time.

This is a simple but very effective tool in keeping you on plane throughout the swing. It is very easy to understand and the instructions are written right on the training tool. What I like about the training tool, was its portability and effectiveness. I love that the 3 armed design folds into itself and allow you to take it with you anywhere…I just stuck it right in the pocket of my golf bag so I have it at arm’s reach. I think for the golfer who has to travel a lot, this is perfect to slip into your carry-on and have it in your hotel room to even just have it as a visual reminder.

Remember, I am a Certified Mental Coach and having a practice training device that I can coach with that allows my players to see and visualize is perfect and I am seeing some serious success from my players by utilizing the InsideMove training aid. Not only does it aid in their physical game in the set up, alignment and swing plane, they are able to see it in their mind’s eye and visualize it during our mental training sessions. Why? Because the design is easy to use and gives the player a visual to play off of in their practice.

As a former LPGA Tour Player, I have had just about every training aid thrown at me to look at, use and discuss. But this one was so easy to comprehend and utilize right off the bat.

Many golfers have what looks like a great swing, but in reality most of the players you see day in and day out are just not properly making solid contact with the ball at impact due to their club crossing the target line at the most crucial point in the swing. What you end up doing when not on plane and square at impact is pulling, pushing and losing incredible distance. The InsideMove gets the club where it is supposed to be prior to impact, at impact and post impact.

Where many players truly make a swing plane error is through the swing and the visual that the InsideMove gives you at address lying there next to your ball is amazing how it transfers to your brain and your swing. It really gave me the edge and confidence I needed coming through the ball just simply having on the ground and allowing my brain to digest the visual and then execute the shot on the right plane.

Now here is a practice training aid that is so cool! I can pull this out practically anywhere inside or out and give the swing a work out. I literally had it up and read out my front door and ready to hit in less than 3 minutes. It is quite portable and easy to take with you to the office, use it in your back yard, take it to a friend’s home or use it in your own home…it is that easy.

When I hit the waffle ball with Velcro strips in my home, I simply used an old piece of carpet and threw it down, hung the Velcro Practice Target on a nail above my front door and away I went. The balls will not break most things…unless you are errant and catch your 1000 year old vase sitting on a pedestal!

I also took it out to the front yard…now mind you, in CA there are no real front yards or even back yards, so I hung in on my garage and put down an outdoor carpet piece I had and practiced. You find you need to really focus on your target in order to hit the Velcro Practice Target—but that is what this game is all about—hitting your target. I had a blast and loved the practice session! I also incorporated the InsideMove to make sure my swing was on plane and my aim what on point.

What a great way to practice. I love the idea that I don’t have to drive 20-25 minutes to the nearest range to practice—I can just do it anywhere!

What you will receive with the Velcro Practice Target is the Veltex portable golf target and 6 Velcro balls. The balls are 3 with red Velcro and 3 black Velcro. It’s really a cool way to compete with your friends…it is like playing darts. You each get 3 balls and you see who gets their Velcro colored balls closest to the white line that runs down the middle of the portable Veltex golf target. I did this with my neighbor…I won!!!

Final Thoughts

I just really enjoyed the portability of the training devices and the designs to encourage and help with my and any players overall game. When it all comes down to it, we need to be aiming correctly and both the InsideMove and the Velcro Practice Targets allow you to gain confidence with your approach to every shot.

The designers where totally in alignment with what the player needs: simple, useful, portable and giving you the confidence to be ‘golf ready’ any time of year—I grew up in Minnesota…this would have been a perfect Training System for me on those cold below zero days in my basement!
